Thesis review

I got a review of my thesis from a friend of Ranganath, my friend's uncle, that arranged the contacts in India for me. Shreedhar is from Pune, lived in Cambridge, MA for several years, then moved back to Pune 7 or 8 years ago, and then to Hyderabad, where he, his wife Suchitra and their weeks-old daughter Kimaya now live. Poona=Pune

Dear Ranganath,
Thanks for sharing Saga Wingard's report. I spent quite a while marvelling at how much she accomplished. Her concept plan was especially delightful. I had started to feel despondent after absorbing the painstakingly documented details of Poona's plight. Then, after her sobering account of the way things are came this enchanting, imaginative sketch of how things might be.

It is difficult to know what deserves greater praise: the diligence with which she studied the situation or the flair with which she imagined her solution.

I hope Sujit and Parisar can get the report the attention it deserves in Poona. Perhaps Shirish Patel and others farther afield will find it interesting enough to share with civil servants elsewhere. Now that Saga has shown how a plausible solution can be obtained from careful study and analysis, perhaps some other enterprising young IAS officer will take the next step of putting this or some similar solution into practice, in Poona or elsewhere.

Love,

Shreedhar
